Summary on Ernest Rutherford Observations

  State the Ernest Rutherford Observations

In the gold foil experiment carried under the supervision of sir earnest Rutherford, three observations are made.

·       majority of the alpha particles pass through the atom ( gold foil) went  uninterrupted, this shows that the atom is almost an empty space.

·       some of the alpha particle are deflected around the center  and this show that the atom has a massive center.

·       few alpha particle around the center of the atom are reflected back , this shows that the center  has a powerful positive charge.
