10 examples of isotopes and their uses: lectures

What are the 10 examples of isotopes
Below are  are some isotopes and their beneficial use
But before we mentioned them , et us define what isotopes are,
Isotopy is the existence of two or more atoms with the atomic number but different atomic mass, isotopes of same element have the same chemical properties but different nuclear  properties,  two or more atoms with same atomic number but different atomic masses are called isotopes.
·        Carbon-14 : carbon-14 is one of the most important isotopes used in dating ancient object of organic origins in a process called radiocarbon dating. They can account for the ages of object of up to 5o thousand years.  Other isotopes of carbon are carbon-12  and carbon -13.
·        Uranium, uranium is an atom with several isotopes , uanium-235 uses in nuclear fission fo the production of cheap energy and weaponry, other isotopes are uranium-238 etc
·        Oxygen: it has three common isotopes , oxygen-16 , oxygen-17 and oxygen-18, the most common one is oxygen-16, oxygen-16 s used in combustion, in hospital to aid patient with difficulty in breathing.
·        Hydrogen: this element also has like three different isotopes,  the protium , the deuterium and the tritium . the protium and the deuterium  are uses in nuclear fusion  for the production of hydrogen bomb.
·         Chlorine: chlorine also has like two isotopes chlorine-35 and chlorine-37.
·        Cobalt -60: uses in hospital to cure
·        Plutonium-290: used in the manufacture of fission bomb
·        Iodine-123 : is used mechanically for a whole body scan
·        Floine-18 :used in nuclear imaging
·        Technetium-99: this emit gamma ray  with low half capable of decaying away just after the process is completed.
There many other radioisotopes used medically and by agro-allied industries , metallurgy industries also use radioactive emission to dictate flaws in metallic equipment.
