how is the atomic mass number of a nucleus changed by beta decay
In a radioactive decay the nucleus of an atom
changes; alpha decay create new atom entirely with two position below the
original atom in the periodic table of element and with a mass less than the
original element with a quantity of approximately 4amu.
Beta decay
creates isobars atoms with same masses but different atomic numbers, while
gamma decay does not create new atom.
