Gamma is the the most energetic, fastest and most penetrating radiation, it move at the speed of light, it penetrate light object like paper, even aluminum and other metals,but despite this it cannot penetrate a thick concrete or thick lead, this is why in a nuclear station , thick block of lead are used as shield, the lead has large number of electrons and thick density, when gamma radiation try to pas through it, its electrons absorbed the radiation and scatter it.
