 A neutron is more massive and electrically neutral, it therefore moves more faster because it will have greater kinetic energy unlike an electron which very much lighter  and also will not be repelled by the nucleus of the target due to unlike a proton ( positively charged) which will be affected by coulomb repulsive force from the positively charged nucleus.
