when an
object absorbs electromagnetic radiation
it becomes hotter, em waves has energy in the form of E= hf , where f is the frequency of the wave
while h is the plank constant, OR simply
E =hc/λ , where C is the speed of the em
waves while λ is the wavelength .
therefore when an em wave of frequency f , velocity c and wavelength λ strikes an
object energy E is absorb by the body.
but if the
radiation is radioactive emission like alpha ray, beta or gamma, the nuclear
property of the object will be affected,
phenomenum like fluorescence, phosphorescence ionization, penetrating the
object etc may occur.
