Question: what are the two processes by which nuclear energy is released? briefly describe the processes.

The two process in which nuclear energy are released are the fusion and the fission, fusion is a nuclear process that occur when two light nuclei come together under the action of intense heat and pressure to form a single atom, the new atom formed is larger and entirely different in both chemical and nuclear reaction, the energy required to kick start a fusion process come from fission reaction.
while fission is a nuclear process whereby a larger nuclei is split into two unequal atoms . an atom to undergo fission is shot with a projectile, this projectiles are the neutrons, protons , alpha particles etc.
These are the two process in which nuclear energy is released
