Question: a 75 ohm light and a 150 ohm heater are connected in parallel to a 150 volt power source, find the equivalent resistance in the circuit

 A 75 ohm light bulb and 150 ohm heater, what is meant is the resistance in the bulb and the heater , the resistors are not necessary a circuit element, see in real life it the electric device we use in our home , therefore do not get confused. Since they are connected in parallel , their equivalent resistance will be given as

1/reff = 1/r1+1/r2
1/reff = 1/75+1/150
1/reff = 3/150
1/reff = 1/50
Reff = 50 ohm
