when light
is transferred to a matter, that is when an incident light is impinging on an
object it may be reflected, absorbed, scattered or transmitted.
when the surface ( matter) is a transparent object most of it is transmitted, when
the surface is an opaque object most of it is absorbed and when the surface is translucent
most of it is scattered.
when the object is white in color all of the light
(wavelength of the spectrum in the visible white light) are reflected and all
the wavelength is absorbed when the surface is black in color.
