predict the identity and mass number of the nucleus formed during the beta decay of magnesium
magnesium atom decays through beta decay( beta plus decay) , where one of its proton split into neutron, positron and an electron neutrino, the resulting atom is sodium, 11Na23.
therefore the identity is the new atomic number which is 11. this equal to sodium atom while the mass number remain 23, still unchanged.
