1. vacuum tube diode characteristics
the most important of a diode is the plate characteristics , this gives the
relationships between the plate current and the plate voltage at a given
cathode temperature. according to child’s law in a space charge limited region ,
the late current is completely controlled by the plate voltage and it is
independent of cathode temperature.
also the plate resistance which limit the flow of current in a diode, it
is thee resistance offered by the diode . it is of two types
· d.c plate resistance
· and a.c plate resistance
the D.C
plate resistance is the resistance
offered by the diode by direct current and A.C plate resistance is the
resistance offered by the diode in a.c current and it is the ratio of small
change in plate voltage across diode resulting in change in the plate current.
vacuum tubes are electronic device that are
use for the flow of electrons through a vacuum. these tubes are instrumental to
the development of electrons.
vacuum tubes
has wide applications ranging from radio, long distance applications, sound
distance application, electronic computers, industrial automations though these
are plden day electronics.
vacuum tubes usually contain cathode as the electron emitter and an anode as the
electron collector and one or more
electrode old grid for controlling the
flow of electrons are place between the anode and cathode.
these electrons are housed in a highly
evacuated glass envelop. i.e evacuating the is held positive with respect to
cathode so that emitted electrons are applied to the plate and the ability of
the vacuum to enable them to perform different function.
