binding energy for caesium atom


to find the binding energy per nucleon on cesium atom or nuclei, we start by finding te difference between the actual mass and the measured mass, the actual mass can be calculated as follows.
it has atomic mass of 133, 55 protons and 78 neutrons
 the actual mass is given by
55 x 1.007825 + 78 x 1.008665 =134.1
measured mass  is 132.905447
mass defect is 1.2 amu
 the binding energy is therefore = 1.2 amu x (3 x 108)2 =10.807182 x 1010Joules
and the binding energy per nucleon is given as
8.1257 x 1014 Joules
