What Is The Beta Particle Composition?

Beta particles are composed of electrons , they  can also be streams of positrons,  they are negatively charged and less massive than alpha particles, they are emitted when an unstable atom with excess of  neutron undergo beta decay, where a neutron is converted in proton,  electron and an electron antineutrino, but in atom with excess of protons positron decay occurs and a neutron, positron and an electron neutrino is produced.
the composition of beta ray are stream of fast moving electrons with a speed less than that of gamma ray but faster than alpha particles, beta ray are more penetrating  than alpha particles but less than ionizing than alpha particles. therefore the beta particle composition could be streams of electrons or positron depending o the type of atom they originate or decay that produce them
