DERIVATIONS OF FORMULA FOR THE CALCULATION OF WORKDONE, ISOTHERMAL AND ADIABATIC PROCESSES

Workdone under thermodynamics, Work done is said to be done when a force is applied and the object displace in the direction of the force Workdone is force multiplied by displacement. In the case of gas confined in a container, assuming the gas has an initial volume of v1 and the gas expand to final volume of v2, covering a distance of dl , then workdone = force x distance ISOTHERMAL PROCESS isothermal process is a thermodynamic process that occur at constant temperature, heat flows and work is done by the system while the temperature , does not change, the process occur so slowly that there is no significant rise or decrease in temperature of the system, according to the first law of thermodynamics , in a closed system, the total amount of energy of all kinds is constant. meaning energy can neither be created no destroyed but can be transformed from one form to another. ADIABATIC PROCESS adiabatic is thermodynamic process where work is done without an addition or removal of heat from the system, the internal energy increase or decrease causing work to be done by the system or on the system respectively causing a rise or fall in temperature.
